Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is just one element of planning for healthy communities, and it remains a core practice area at BCA.
We are leading the field in providing health input to Strategic Environmental Assessments and to Sustainability Appraisals. This promotes consideration of health and social issues at a strategic level. Upstream, where its contribution is most potent. We also provide specialist input to project level Environmental Assessment.
Finally, through BCA’s training and masterclass programmes, we help to broker links and explore the shared agenda between health professionals and all those involved in spatial planning.
